Hasn’t been the busiest beginning of the month as far as local news goes, but with area schools starting in the coming weeks, that is sure to change. Either way here is a look at some of the stories I have been covering for the first part of this month…
- Vivian Descheny weaves a Navajo rug on a loom at the Museum of Northern Arizona during the 66th annual Navajo Festival of Arts and Culture Saturday. The two day event continues Sunday.
- Festival goers admire one of the world’s largest Navajo rugs which was on display at the Museum of Northern Arizona during the 66th annual Navajo Festival of Arts and Culture Saturday. The rug, which measures 26-feet by 36-feet, was on loan to the museum from the Winslow Arts Trust.
- Navajo artist Elizabeth Whitethorne-Benally cleans a brush at an interactive painting demonstration during the Navajo Festival of Arts and Culture Saturday. The two-day festival continues Sunday at the Museum of Northern Arizona.
