Today, I received a new Lens Baby, Muse. (Thanks to Uncle Tom and Aunt June for the graduation gift) Lens Baby lenses are selective focus lenses for your SLR camera. Basically, they are cheap, fun tilt-shift lenses; great for experimental and art photography. Excited to play with my new toy, I headed out on a walk with My-Friend-Bob-Smith-Who-Lives-Downstairs, his girl friend Megan and their dog J.B. Hit the link to read more and see some of the photos from the day…
The fun thing about Lens Baby photography is that you never know exactly what you are going to get. You can push, pull and rotate the lens around trying to get the “sweet spot” of focus exactly where you want it, but in fluid situations where things are happening quickly, sometimes things get crazy…(in a good way hopefully)
J.B. went for a swim in the pond at Thorpe Park…the ducks were teasing her…
Doing what dogs do after a swim…
I love the look on the outside of the frame, it is funny how we spend money to make our expensive digital SLR cameras look like cheap plastic cameras…
This is a great example of the power of selective focus, the idea of a tilt-shift lens kind of completely changes the game with regards to how one typically thinks of depth of field.
More of that selective focus vignette. The more I shoot on this lens the more I like it…
I think this is a nice candid of Megan by the swings she tried to swing over.
Even J.B. got in on the swing action. She is a little nervous, but I think she likes it…Now if only Parks and Rec. would put tail holes into the swings…
J.B. tired out the slide too. The rest of the post will be just photos with captions. This new lens is a lot of fun, be sure to check back soon for lots more stuff like this. I bet it will get a lot better as I get more used to the way this funky/fun lens works…
I had the stick in for this one…
Some times things are blurry, but that is what makes Lomography fun. And if the moment is good, who cares…
More blur, but i love the composition…
Thanks again to My-Friend-Bob-Smith-Who-Lives-Downstairs and Megan for a fun afternoons walk and the the photos…
