As the title implies and as I have alluded to in the previous post on this blog, I have found a new love for slide film…
I have been distracted in other ways too (new glass for my Nikon), but 120mm Fujichrome is just so cool.
The above photo is from my Yashica Mat 124-G, FujiChrome, digitized and all that jazz. The building is one of my favorites, a science lab building at Northern Arizona University, around sunset.
My former and soon to be current again, hang out the Communication Building. I thought the colors in the sky were really cool this evening. This is again 120 slide film.
Mount Elden to the Northeast of Flagstaff. Seen from the Drury Inn parking garage.
More Katie, both from the Yashica. Did you know that Wal-Mart develops not only slide film but 120mm slide and print film? Well it’s true…they send it off to the nearest Fuji lab who does a fantastic job developing this film, just so long as you don’t mind waiting about two weeks to get it back. But at about $5/roll who cares…
Now on to other distractions…As mentioned previously, I purchased some new glass for my digital Nikon set up. Specifically, a 17-35mm f/2.8 Nikkor lens. I am super happy with it so far. All metal with an aperture ring (which I believe every lens should have). This is one of the first frames with it of thevisualCollective’s fearless leader, owner of Vault Photography and friend of us here at TM Photo, Matt Beaty. Just a quick snap, but this is a somewhat random post so I don’t worry about it too much…
Another distraction has been digging through my archives to somewhat unfinished projects or old negative folders and finishing a frame or two that might catch my eye. Above is a skyline view of East Berlin circa 2008.
This is a shot from thevisualCollective 2.0 trip to Zion National Park. We did this location lighting set up somewhere in the Utah desert, but I never touched the photos. Anyway here is the shot that I like…
Well a somewhat random post, but good to get back in the swing of blogging on a regular basis. Check back soon for more content of a newish nature…
I very much enjoy that last frame of Katie. Love the tree and her pose and pretty much everything about it.
