Lenny Walkabout

For any of you who might get a chuckle out of the title of this post I am sorry for the lost hours of your life that you will never get back (not really, it was fun). For everyone else, just know that I have been a little walkabout lately and have some street scenes to prove it. This post is a little all over the place, but hang tough and be rewarded. Hit the link to see what I have been doing the last few week or so…

For my personal sanity I will once again be presenting these in no particular order (just the order they were uploaded in, which is to say by file name). The opening image is from the Nikon Em which has become my go to walkabout camera. Unless otherwise noted all images are shot on Kodak 400TX and developed in Kodak HC-110 Dil. B Then digitized and run through Silver Effects Pro (all scratches are on account of my laziness, but do work in most of the images I think).

Second image is from the yet-to-be-released-on-my-blog Ziess/Ikon Nettar 515/2 (check back later this week for more on this and other new/old cameras)

Next are a few photos from another yet-to-be-released camera, the Gomz, Smena. Above is the laundry mat…

Signs from Flagstaff’s Rt. 66 glory days…

Street portraits on this little and unassuming camera are fun, however, all but impossible to focus. Still though, there is something in these that I really like, expect to see a few of them in my oh-so-top-secret project that occupies most of my non-working days…

An old friend from my Monsoon on the Square days, Jared…

A not-as-old friend from my NAU days, Kate…Hopefully I will be able to figure out how to focus this thing, it has the ability to focus at various distances, but no one can figure out how to do it (more on this later)

Another Kate (this one with an ie) somewhere in Flagstaff

My-Friend-Bob-Smith-Who-Used-To-Live-Downstairs-But-Now-Lives-Up-The-Street when we were playing disc golf

Garage…

We have had a lot of rain lately and fall is definitely in full effect. As such, the clouds have been great…

Another composition…

The next series is from a recent trip to the Grand Canyon aboard the Grand Canyon Railway. My girlfriend is an attendent on the train but we have never been passengers together, but not no more’s…

I can’t resist taking people’s portraits, great faces deserve to be saved…These are all taken on my Canon AE-1, shot and processed as usual…

Can you tell that I have been having fun with toning? Not just digitally but in my other projects as well (actual photographs on paper)…

Herself…

Now we head back to Vegas for a few pre-street portrait snaps. These were on the AE-1. I saw this scene in the parking lot of the Red Rock Station Hotel and had to shoot it before it was gone…

View from my hotel room, this place has like 18 pools no joke…

They have a great chandelier too, this might make a good cyano-type too…

Back to Flagstaff and the Nikon Em…Friday thevisualCollective had a model casting call. We were trying to build a database of go to people for our many talent needs. Some of you may remember Alexandra from one of the original visual collective outings to Twin Arrows, for the rest of you check out a slide show  here. Having a good model and lights set up, I couldn’t resist and took a few frames…

My personal favorite from the shoot. Again having fun with toned looks…

A parting shot of Katie riding bikes with me around the mean streets of Flagstaff…

Whew! that was a longer than normal post. Hope you can see that I have been a busy beaver the last week or two. More to come as always, but till then…
