photo shoot 4`4`2011

A few days ago, I once again had the pleasure of shooting with the one and only Melissa Misfortune. For those of you who follow my work with any regularity you will remember her from my ‘heart in your hand‘ concept a few month back. This time, she provided a fabulously funky fruit filled fashion, I provided the crates and camera. Hit the link below the photo to read more and see the behind the scenes stuff, don’t forget to click the photos to see them full screen if you are having trouble viewing them (on a lap top for example)…

camera collection update

On Sunday I was at the local GoodWill when I found another cool old camera to add to my collection, it was less than $2 and I couldn’t resist.

vivitar

This is the Vivitar 35CA. It is a small 35mm rangefinder from the late 1970’s. There is an Automatic mode and a Bulb setting. The attached 38mm F/2.7 lens had a skylight filter attached. This camera features a hot shoe and PC sync port, is manual focus and although an automatic camera has a light meter in the viewfinder. During the late 1970’s Japan was producing a ton of these cheap rangefinders and selling them under different names. Essentially all the same, save a few cosmetic differences, this same camera can be found sold as at least four other brands/makes. Another funky addition to my collection. See the rest here and here.

Behind the scenes: Twin Arrows, Ariz.

looking through the lensToday was destined to be a great photography day. Originally, I was going to help out Matt Beaty of Vault Photography with an advertisement shoot for a local Car Dealership he has been working with. The plan was to get a new Subaru WRX and drive it around to get action shots. When we arrived at the dealership, they had not only sold the car earlier that week but didn’t have time to deal with us that day and sent us packing. Not to be discouraged, Matt, Andrew Paffrath (who was along to shoot some video) and I grabbed our gear, called up the beautiful Alexandra Felix to model and headed out to Twin Arrows, Ariz. to have some fun and get our creative on. Hit the link to see more photos and read more about our adventure. (the above shot is the back of Andrews T2-I taped to the dash, recording the ride there.) Continue reading
