Back for an almost unprecedented second post in one day. This time to share a shot from my other new friend, the Mamiya RB67. I have put several rolls through this bad-boy, some of which you have seen here. After two weeks, I finally got my FujiChrome back from the lab (more to come tomorrow). In the mean time enjoy this detail of a stand up bass some one had in downtown Prescott a few weeks ago.

Just a quick post to show an image from the first roll out of my Vivitar 35ca, a nice little rangefinder I have had for some time, but have not shot with. I have wanted something a little smaller and more inconspicuous for my carry around camera, and a rangefinder seemed like the perfect solution. This is shot on Kodak T-Max 100, pushed to 400. In the photo is Aaron working the kitchen line at Macy’s Coffee Shop. More to come in the nearish future…

Another quick post, somewhat similar to my last post, but oh so different…While the lighting is the same, the model is different; and perhaps more importantly the camera is new. This is the first frame I shot on my new (at least to me) Mamiya RB67 Pro-SD. Super excited to explore the possibilities with this new piece of gear. Gotta love the 6×7 negative and 180mm lens. Shot on Fuji Acros with three ProFoto D1 heads.

Just another quick post…I was in the studio the other day and helping this person with lights, cameras, meters etc. I had her stand in for a minute so I could put a frame or two down on the Hasselblad with the digital back attached. A while back I posted about trying to get away from high-key stuff . And I have to some extent; however, like any addict I just can’t stay away for too long…
Sunday I assisted Matt Beaty in the studio shooting t-shirts and hats for a start-up clothing company ‘Sea Level Sucks.’ After a full day of running the computer, setting up lights and generally helping out with the clients I was tired. I watched Matt put down hundreds of frames all afternoon and needed to get my creative angst out (it isn’t fair that someone else should get to shoot all day and I don’t get a single frame) As it so happened, another photographer, Dhalia Stack, was using the studio facility that day, shooting some photos of Rachel (above). Being an unabashed model thief, and seeing a cool outfit as they came in, I asked if I could shoot a few frames (no more than 12, I only had one roll of 120 for the Hasselbald)…

I recently had two pieces of art in a collective show at The Coconino Center For The Arts. One was an inkjet image lift transfer taken on the Queen Mary. The Second was a tea-toned cyanotype of a studio portrait I took last year.
While the show was hanging, students from the Flagstaff Arts and Leadership Academy (FALA) went to view the work. The students assignment was to photograph a piece they liked and write a story about it. One student, Kaia Rodriguez, chose mine. After the show the artists whose pieces were chosen were given the finished assignment. Please click the above image to see it larger and read the story.
Here is the original cyanotype as it appeared in the show. It is interesting to me the way that different people interpret a photo. The only info that hung with the image was that it was a tea-toned cyanotype titled ‘Emily’ (the models name). The creative story this student came up with is great. Thanks to everyone at FALA and especially the student who took the time to look deeper into my piece.
Did you know you can search Google by dragging and dropping an image from your computer? Google will scour the internet and show you everywhere that image appears. Yup, it’s true…While is isn’t breaking news by any means, I did a Google Image search for one of my images just to see if it appeared anywhere on the internet is wasn’t supposed to…Hit the link to see the results…
