Sketch Board Artist Video

As promised in the previous post, here is a short video I made for Paul Hopman, an Arizona based Sketch Board artist who does some amazing portraits of animals. While shooting some street portraits, we got to talking and he asked if I could produce a very short video about his art, which you can see more of here…

tvC::Photo Walk::May 2012

This afternoon, as is our last Sunday tradition, The Visual Collective had some lunch and took a little photo-centric stroll. This month there was an art show at Wheeler Park in downtown Flagstaff. Everything from photos, to painting of all kinds, hand-made soaps, knives and everything in between.

As I am prone to doing, I took some ‘street portraits’. Above is Ed Wzientek, who crafts hand-made knives out of everything from rail-road spikes to old metal files. Hit the link for more from this great afternoon… Continue reading

Instant(ish) Gratification and Solarization

Yesterday afternoon, I took a little walk with my Speed Graphic 4×5 camera and some Polaroid type 55 film. I have never had any luck with it, but felt like this was my day, and in many ways it was (i actually got some images). Hit the link to see and read more… Continue reading

It’s All In The Details

As the name of this post might imply, the following are a series of detail shots taken recently at a British car rally in Prescott, Ariz. All are shot in the Mamiya RB67 with either FujiChrome Provia or Fuji Acros 100. I’m not sure of what each car is, so if you know tell me in the comments… Continue reading

Vivitar 35ca

Just a quick post to show an image from the first roll out of my Vivitar 35ca, a nice little rangefinder I have had for some time, but have not shot with. I have wanted something a little smaller and more inconspicuous for my carry around camera, and a rangefinder seemed like the perfect solution. This is shot on Kodak T-Max 100, pushed to 400. In the photo is Aaron working the kitchen line at Macy’s Coffee Shop. More to come in the nearish future…

Fitness Preview

I recently had the pleasure of photographing an old friend, Robert, who is a personal trainer in Prescott, Ariz. He is breaking into the world of fitness modeling and competition and as such needed some shots for his portfolio. I put down several hundred frames on my trusty digital Nikon, but couldn’t resist a little time with the Hasselblad. Hit the link for more… Continue reading

Pano Pandemonium

Lots and lots of panoramas in the last few weeks. Here are a few examples of the more successful ones. Above is a ruined building at Rholyte, Nev. I believe this is 4 or 5 images. Be sure to click the images to see them a little larger. (most of these are between 70-150″ long in full size, and had to be massively downscaled for web.)
